About TEDxYouth @Tehran

TEDxYouth@Tehran is part of the TEDxYouth initiative by TED. On and around the time of Universal Children’s Day, several cities and communities host a TEDxYouth event. While each event is different in format, size and theme, they have a shared vision: inspiring creativity, igniting innovation, and empowering the youth. For more information on TEDxYouth, please visit tedxyouthday.ted.com

TEDxYouth@Tehran is based on a central premise that every young person is the captain of their destiny, the master of their life. They need to take responsibility for their life, be independent thinkers and explore their imagination. They need to feel empowered and bold to do game-changing innovations, technologies and businesses. We design our event theme and invite speakers to give the youth a sense of hope, examples of role models, ideas to innovate and create, and to reach their full potential

TEDxYouth@Tehran is licensed to Sara Mohammadi, founder of TEDxTehran and licensee of TEDxTehran 2014. TEDxYouth@Tehran will be led by co-organizer Alidad Hosseini and a group of volunteers.

About TEDxYouth

TEDxYouthDay is a series of TEDx events happening all around the world coinciding with Universal Children’s Day in late November. These events are designed to empower and inspire young people. TEDxYouthDay events present a combination of live speakers and TEDTalks to audiences around the world. These events vary widely in size, format, and theme, but they share a common vision: inspiring curiosity, igniting new ideas, and empowering young leaders.

This year, TEDxYouthDay — themed “The Spark” — will take place from Saturday, November 16 to Sunday, November 17. Our global TEDx events will coincide with TEDYouth, a salon event hosted by TED in New Orleans on November 16.

About TEDx

x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.) About TED

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in 1984, TED has grown to support world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. At TED, the world’s leading thinkers and doers are asked to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Talks are then made available, free, at TED.com.
